Case Studies Jeddah/Makkah Al Mokarrama EPC Contractor MAPA Riyadh Part of New Transmission System to transport potable water from Rabigh Desalination Plant, under construction on the East Coast of Saudi Arabia, to the cities of Jeddah and Makkah Two separate new pipeline systems are being constructed, comprising Rabigh PSM1 and PSM2, both rated at 1,300,000m3/day to take account of the emergency supplies for Jeddah and Makkah TSSE are completing the design and supply of the main plant Cooling Water system at both sites, working with MAPA as the main EPC Contractor. Cooling Water System design flow rate, at both PSM1 and PSM2, is 620m3/hr, to provide cooling water to the main and booster pump sets, rated between 1.5 and 9.2 MW, together with Fan Filter, Chiller and Lube Oil systems associate with the main plant. Main equipment supply at each location includes, Primary and Secondary pumps, Double Wall Plate Heat Exchangers, Pipework, Valves, Automatic Filters, MCC and Instrumentation, sufficient to provide fully automatic operation and control. Secondary to this, TSSE are also working with MAPA to provide the Cooling Water System for the Arafat – Taif Water Transmission System. The purpose of the A-T WTS is to transport potable water, produced at Shoaiba (and, in some emergency cases at Rabigh Desalination Plant) to the city of Taif and further on to Baha by means of other transmission systems. PS-2E has a design capacity of 176,000 m3/day for Phase 1 and 322,105 m3/day for Phase 2. Cooling Water System design flow rate at, both PS-2E and PS-3E, is 457m3/hr to provide cooling water to main pump sets rated between 5.9 and 7.0 MW together with Fan Filter and Lube Oil systems associated with the main plant. Main equipment supply at each location, includes Primary and Secondary Pumps, Double Wall Plate Heat Exchangers, Pipework, Valves, Automatic Filters, MCC and Instrumentation sufficient to provide fully automatic operation and control.
