Business situation
Our customer had issues with contamination in their pipes and manifolds and was a sub supplier to other parts of the organisation.
Technical situation
Contamination is the major cause of hydraulic system failure. Reliability is critical for subsea equipment, hence contamination on component parts can be a real problem. Our customer did not have a sufficient capability to flush and monitor their products.
Solution
Torishima provided a ‘Plug and Play’ Flushing Rig that will plug into an electrical supply and connect to the component being flushed. A complete system that will provide filtered oil to pipes and manifolds and a Particle Counter that measures the contamination in the returning fluid.
The rig was a mobile unit with lifting lugs and forklift pockets. The rig was enclosed in Lexan polycarbonate sheet to contain any leaks or component issues.
